Give me an S!  Give me a U!  Give me an N! … (I’m our new St. Paul’s Sunday School Cheerleader!)  What does it spell?  Sunday School!

Do we realize what an important time it is in the lives of our children?  They are being bombarded with so many negative images of self and of Christianity.  Our children need to be in Sunday school.  Worship is important, but Sunday school is vital for our young people.  Their minds are absorbing so much on Monday through Saturday.  On Sunday they need to hear about our Holy and Loving God and learn from the examples of Jesus.  We are called as parents to teach our children about God, but how many of us truly doing that?  We need the help of our church family. Sunday school is the answer.

Sometimes we need to be encouraged to do things.  One of them is to bring our children to Sunday school.  After all, it’s nice to sleep in!  But Sunday school is so important!  As parents we have to teach our children to value Christian education.  As parents, we must be a part of some kind of small learning group (Sunday school or other) and then encourage our children to do the same.  If you say they don’t want to come, how many of them really wanted to brush their teeth, wash behind their ears, or get out of the swimming pool?  We must be parents …and it’s not easy!

I would like to persuade you to get your children to Sunday school every week… and then become involved in a learning ministry at St. Paul’s for yourself.  Participating in a small group learning ministry of your church will bless your life tremendously.

May is Children’s Ministry Month.  We want you to know how wonderful our children’s Sunday school has become because of the devotion of great teachers.  We’ll be asking you to volunteer throughout the month as well.  But our most important goal is to make you aware of a terrific opportunity for your children and grandchildren.  Come to Sunday School this week!
